ABOUT THE WORK
Through Lands is a contemplative body of work—a catalogue of daily entries, wrestled into form in the quiet middle ground. This is not a place of beginning or end, but of passage. Of humility, honesty, and holy tension. Each piece emerges from that in between space, where heartbeat, breath, grief, longing, joy, and prayer converge. It is not made with a gallery in mind, or for a collector’s approval—it is communion.
This particular work was created during a season of deep transition—both spiritual and physical. The word “labor” resonates in every layer: the kind that births not only new life, but new revelation. Each mark holds the ache of uncertainty and the resolve to endure. Through friction and surrender, something honest is brought forth.

Layers of wax, pigment, and oil hold the trace of what is becoming, and the sediment of our histories, the quiet, faithful remnants of all that has been. They move with a kind of reverence, a quiet knowing that creation is still happening, that goodness is taking shape in ways we cannot yet see.
