ABOUT THE WORK
From the Deep follows the pull of something forming beneath the surface, in the unseen depths—weighty, strong, and powerful.
Its base layer, formed with oil stick, is softly blurred. Layered wax builds texture and depth, intensifying the sense of motion.
Forms flicker and bounce as they're carried in the current. Each gesture feels quick, electric, yet restrained—just whispers, enough to allow the viewer to sense their presence.
Faint silhouettes drift in and out—whispered forms, more sensed than seen. And throughout, pockets of light shine through, revealing the depth but allowing us to know they are not too far down for light to reach through.
This is the work happening beneath the surface—the kind that begins deep in unseen places, long before it rises. What we’re witnessing is a glimpse. Quiet, but becoming.

Layers of wax, pigment, and oil hold the trace of what is becoming, and the sediment of our histories, the quiet, faithful remnants of all that has been. They move with a kind of reverence, a quiet knowing that creation is still happening, that goodness is taking shape in ways we cannot yet see.
